Something new: Calling all BookTok girlies! The 2023 Rain Taxi’s Twin Cities Book Festival is Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Minnesota Fair Grounds. It features Minnesota authors and used books and records.
Something new: When drums were taken from enslaved Africans in South Carolina, they started using their bodies to tap out beats. The University of Minnesota is hosting Step Afrika! Drumfolk. The event will tell stories previously “left in the margins.”
