St. Olaf junior forward Jonathan Panisa scores the third-seeded Oles’ third goal of the MIAC semifinal game against second-seeded Bethel University Saturday, March 1 at the National Sports Center. Bethel led by one goal for most of the game, but the Oles responded in the third period with three goals in the span of nine minutes and 11 seconds. “They hang around until we make a mistake,” Royals head coach Chris Mckelvie said. “And it’s kind of a mirror image of last year in the playoffs.”

Royals fall just shy of MIAC playoff championship
The Bethel University and St. Olaf College men’s hockey teams tussle in front of the net during the Royals 3-1 win over the Oles on Friday Feb. 22 at Bethel University Arena. “We’ve already played St.Olaf three times,” junior center Jack Brown said. “Playing another MIAC team, especially a team that we lost to in the championship, just builds up even more momentum.”

Emily Christiansen and Taylor Hanson talk all things love in episode two of “A Little Bit of Everything.”

Welcome to the looove episode (02) of A Little Bit of Everything with Emily Christiansen. Emily is joined by guest host Taylor Hanson to discuss iconic romcoms, their love for cowboys, Joey Graziadei and their dream meet-cute situations. They also talk with Erin Barker, A New York City storyteller, podcaster, and two time National Moth Grand Slam winner about her thoughts on The Bachelor, her new podcast series “Bridging the Divide,” and her hilarious experience in a grocery store with a boy (her now husband).

Bethel students Alivia Wulff and Grace Christensen serve CLUES by providing food to its clients and restocking items in the food shelf. At the food shelf, Wulff and Christensen interact with Hispanic clients and families. “It's just been really eye opening to see the same families come every week and they have their kids with them, and they're just all so happy and funny and just very nice and warm,” Wulff said.
Bridging the gap
Edgars Yarmolatiy sits in his freshman dorm room in Nelson Hall, a computer coding assignment on his desk behind him. Yarmolatiy is a freshman computer science major at Bethel University and a Ukrainian refugee. He fled his home once for Latvia in February 2022 and again for the United States in April 2023.
Home away from home

As Election Day approaches, Moore and his co-host Andy Bramsen want students to be equipped to have political conversations with those around them. "We created the podcast with the goal of modeling talking about politics civilly and not so divisively," Bramsen said.

Emily Christiansen, 19, is a journalism major with a media production minor. She enjoys playing piano, ukulele and her white Paul Reed Smith single cut electric guitar. Her favorite activities include playing Yahtzee and Phase 10 with her intensely competitive family, spending way too much money on venti strawberry açaí refreshers from Starbucks and butchering musical theater classics at karaoke nights with her roommates.

Taylor Hanson, 20, is a junior organizational communications major with a journalism minor. In her free time, she can be found planning her next trip (that she doesn’t have money for), people watching in the DC, finding cool restaurants in the cities or scootering with her friends around campus.
