Breaking: Head coach of Bethel women’s soccer resigns

Players found out following practice Monday.

Head coach of Bethel University women’s soccer, Ben Linder, announced his resignation after practice Monday, according to an email from Linder. 

Linder led the Royals for eight seasons, amassing a record of 39-58-11. He came to Bethel as an assistant coach in 2016 before being promoted to head coach in 2019. Linder is moving on to be the director of the Chicago Eagles, a Mission Athletes International soccer club. 

The announcement comes near the end of a 3-12-2 season, Linder’s lowest win total as coach of the Royals.
