Sports recap

Men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s hockey, men’s and women’s track, men’s and women’s tennis.

Men’s Basketball

The men’s basketball team clinched a playoff berth with a 70-69 win over Gustavus Adolphus College. They have also won six of their last eight games, giving the team an overall record of 17-6. They look to continue their hot streak at Macalester College on Feb. 14.

Women’s Basketball

The women’s basketball team lost their most recent matchup to Gustavus College 77-60. They have gone 7-3 in their last ten games, led by Hannah Johnson’s averages of 17 points and 10 rebounds.  The Royals are currently in fourth place in the MIAC, with their next matchup against Macalester College on Feb. 14.

Men’s Hockey

The men’s hockey team capped off a frustrating season with a loss to St. Olaf Feb. 10. They finished with a record of 3-19-3.

Women’s Hockey

The women’s hockey team is coming off a 7-1 win against St. Olaf. The team is now 9-12-2 on the season. Their next matchup is the season finale, a home-and-home series against St. Catherine’s Feb. 16-17.

Men’s Tennis

The men’s tennis team has had a perfect 4-0 start to their season. Their next matchup will be Feb. 17 at St. Olaf College.

Women’s Tennis

The women’s tennis team is 3-0 on the season. Their next matchup will be Feb. 16 at St. Olaf College.

Track and Field

The women’s 4×400-meter relay team set a new school record Feb. 10 at the Darren Young Classic meet. The men’s 4×400-meter relay team set a track record as well. Both relay teams are now ranked second in the nations. The track and field team’s next meet is at the University of Minnesota Feb. 16.
