Q&A with Zach Fisk

Q: What year are you in and what are you studying at Bethel?

A: I am a senior studying marketing and entrepreneurship.

Q: When did you start thrifting? What (or who) inspired it? When/why did you turn your hobby into a business?

A: I started thrifting when I was a little kid. My parents, especially my dad, got me started. I started selling stuff in middle school to make money. I started Thrift-fil-a when I got to college and run it by myself.

Q: Do you have a go-to thrift store? How far are you willing to go for a haul?

A: My go-to thrift stores are all of them. I’m willing to go wherever I need to depending on how good it is. I’ve flown out to places before.

Q: What do you look for while thrifting? What qualifies as vintage?

A: I look for vintage clothing and also anything else I can flip online such as antiques, video games, and stereo equipment. In my eyes, to be qualified as vintage it must be around 20 or more years old.

Q: How can others go about purchasing items from Thrift-fil-a?

A: To purchase from Thrift-fil-a, follow us on Instagram and check often for “story sales”. A few times a week I put a bunch of things on my story. DM to buy.
