The four-act operatic comedy originally composed by Mozart in 1786 hit Benson Great Hall in January for a four-day showcase. Artistic Director Merrin Guice Gill, Director Bethany Larson and Conductor Steven Thompson created the story of Figaro with their cast of 15 Bethel students. Originally set in Spain, Bethel’s adaptation takes place in London as it tells the story of a love triangle between Figaro, Susana and the Count Almaviva on the day of Figaro and Susana’s wedding. Through comedic tricks and trials, the Count learns a lesson about loyalty at the end of the day while Figaro gets his girl.

The Clarion captured photos of the show and some behind the scenes looks at the opera. Here is “The Marriage of Figaro.”
