- 16-year-old Samantha Burnette died Sunday from a shooting according to the Pioneer Press. She was a junior at Minnetonka High School, while the other victim, her sister, needed staples for a wound caused by being hit with a gun. Burnette’s sister said she believes a friend of hers set them up to be robbed. Police arrested two people connected to the case.
- A new poll released Sunday by KSTP shows Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton ahead of Republican candidate Donald Trump by seven points in Minnesota. According to the Pioneer Press, Clinton is leading by 1.5 points nationally.
- Former Vikings linebacker Napoleon Harris III fights off four robbers while deliving pizza, according to the Pioneer Press. Harris, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds has served as Illinois state senator since 2013.
National and World News
- Crucial evidence in the police shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott is not available due to one of the officers failing to activate his body camera, according to The Washington Post. The officer activated the camera after Scott was shot, which is in violation of department policy. Protests against police continue in Charlotte.
- Arcan Cetin confessed to the Washington state mall shooting and to bringing a rifle into Macy’s and shooting five people, according to CNN. He now faces five counts of murder.
