It’s Friday night. You’re in your dorm wearing fuzzy slippers and watching reruns of The Office. Your roommate is finishing up a paper in the buildings, and when the clock strikes midnight, you’ll head off to bed. There’s nothing else to do, right?
Wrong.
We get it. The options seem pretty slim on the weekends. Everything closes at 10 p.m. or involves non-Bethical activities. But, fear not, we’ve found some fun, late-night spots for a night on the town that won’t break the bank – or the covenant.
Stop one: Caffetto Coffee House
An 18 minute drive from Bethel, this cafe is open until midnight and provides an excellent atmosphere for studying or hanging out. The lighting is non-fluorescent (always a win in our books), and the walls are covered in art. With mismatched tables and chairs, all drinks under $6 and a basement with old arcade games, this is a great spot to sit and stay for a while.
708 W 22nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55405
Drive: 18 minutes
Closes: Midnight
Free street parking

Stop two: Las Delicias de Frida
Up for a midnight snack run? This restaurant has traditional Mexican street and snack food, including paleta and elotes. We rate the ice cream waffle cones 10/10. With the bright pink counter and music bumping, this place is definitely a treat to visit (pun intended).
2904 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408
Drive: 20 minutes
Closes: Midnight
Paid street parking
Final stop: The Nicollet Diner

An ‘80s-style diner that’s open 24 hours. Really, that’s all that needs to be said. The place has neon lighting, booth seating and the classic checkerboard floor. We recommend the fried pickles and a milkshake for the full experience.
1333 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55403
Drive: 18 minutes
Closes: Never
Paid street parking
(Life hack: get there past 10 p.m. and it will be free anyway!)
